another beautiful session with little (A.)
It rained…THREE times before we were able to finally have this photo session. Sure, we could have done it in the studio but that wasn’t our vision. It was a summer, park play date..and boy did we get a perfect one! This is my second photo session with (A.) and her family. She is sooo adorable, and about the best dressed little tot! We had a wonderful day “playing” at the park for our photo session in St. Paul. I absolutly love children’s photo sessions that actually end up being play dates. Especially when I am lucky enough to get to know the children well, like little A. here. Isn’t she the most beautiful little girl! Enjoy your sneak peek mom. The full gallery is on the way….and I think you will agree it was worth the rescheduling!!;)

Come Sail Away…
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful little girl at her families home in Lake Minnetonka area. She was born into a family of amazing sailors (her dad had just won a race that very day).
I had such a wonderful time with her and her gorgeous mom playing in the yard until the boat came in. Then it was time for her to jump in the boat and take control. I can see you have a little sailor in the making (E.) Family. Thank you for a wonderful day! ![]()

Remembering Julie Steiskal: 1978-2008..
Life is precious, life is sweet, like the wind beneath our feet…this is a line from one of my favorite songs and how true it is. On Wed. a fellow local photographer and friend (if you only met Julie once, you would have forever thought you were best friends) died while trying to save a teenager from a river they were washing their hair in while camping. The river was too strong for both of them…
Julie was a photographer, church counselor and so much more. Julie lived an amazing life, she lived every day for her savior Jesus, and he certainly is telling her right now “well done, good and faithful servant”. It is no surprise that Julie would give her life to save another.
Julie was always giving advice, the image below is some advice Julie had given local photographer Scott Bolster
As you can see, she was beautiful, happy and carefree. You can read about Julies tragic passing below
KSTP article
On Julie’s website she used one of her favorite quotes
“we need a renaissance of wonder.
we need to renew, in our hearts & in our souls,
the deathless dream, the eternal poetry,
the perennial sense that life is miracle & magic.
e. merrill root
My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Tomorrows we will say goodbye to Julie..until we meet her again.

Meet the newest addition to the [B.] family..
A while back I made a very good new friend. Granted, he was barely 3, but we hit it off right away. You may remember him and his expecting mommy from this post.
Click here to see that session post
Well, I was fortunate enough to get to go back and photograph his new baby brother. Meet baby [B.]. Isn’t he just GORGEOUS. Let me tell you, this was such an easy newborn session. He was PERFECT! It was if he knew it was his photo session and he performed perfectly on cue. I am just in love with this family and am so happy to be invited to capture these wonderful memories for them to cherish forever. Thanks for another (couple
) of wonderful sessions! Your gallery is on it’s way.

Is there anything better than seeing a family laugh together, and to capture that love and laughter forever is one of my joys…
As you can see the K. Family has 2 that look very similar..
and thier little brother. I loved photographing this family. They were so easy going, so much fun!
How cute is little A. and his wagon? Look at his big brother, have you ever seen eyes this blue? These little beautys have a super mom! (there are 4 under 6 years old!)
This wonderful family was having pictures taken as a suprise for dad. Isn’t that a wonderful idea and a gift to last forever! Thanks for the fun C. Family!
Meet the K. Family, quite possibly the funniest family I have met. They have a wonderful sense of humor and smiled the entire time!
Here is another K. Family. These guys were AMAZING. I was so impressed at how well they all got along, and how much fun they had with each other. It was like a mini Brady bunch..even girls (3) and even boys (3). What a gorgous family huh! I loved that we were able to take all of these pictures on thier porch and around thier home. It seemed like an extension of this wonderful family.
Meet the B. Family. I have had the amazing opportunity to photography them before, as well as Mrs. B. individually for her highly successful writing and speaking company. What a dynamic family! They are so smart, fun, articulate..and family is incredibly important to them, which made it that much more fun. I love the bright outfits B. family!

sneak peek for H. Family
I had such a wonderful time at this children and family photo session. They live in an amazing home near Grand avenue and the light in the this house was magical, (not to mention the magical little girl). Meet little A. and her family. This beautiful little girl didn’t stop smiling the whole time. It’s as if she knew we were capturing her bubbly personality on film forever. Thank you for the fun afternoon H. family. Your gallery is on it’s way!

Walking on sunshine..
Do you recognize these two?
If you have been to my main minneapolis family and children’s photography website at www.lisaslotsvephotography.com
you will recognize these two in the front page sideshow.
We were photographing their 2 and 3 year old sessions in this same spot almost a year ago and my how they have grown. These wonderful, amazing siblings have been a joy to photograph the past 2 1/2 years and every time I am amazed at how much they remember me and our last session. It makes me feel like part of the family. I can not believe how much they have grown. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek L. family. The rest of the gallery will be on it’s way soon.

I was blessed to photograph a 4 generation image. Here is Little Miss M’s great grandma, grandmother and mom. I love everything about this image from her hair blowing to her dirty little feet running towards these special women in her life.
