Jessica | Minnesota Modern Senior Photographer

lagerblog1Jessica traveled all the way from Williston, North Dakota for her highschool senior session.  I have a lot of clients travel in for thier senior sessions, which always makes it fun. They make a special trip out of it, shopping, having fun and then having thier pictures taken. This allows for unique senior pictures in and around Minneapolis, but also for a memorable trip with mom or dad or both.  This session was extra special because Jessica is one of my favorite cousin’s daughter.  I cannot believe she is already a senior. She has always been the sweetest girl, and she is beautiful both inside and out.  I hope you are enjoying the “sneak peek”. The gallery will come soon!lagerblog2

Zelalem | Twin Cities Senior Photographer

What a fun session!  Zelalem is a 2010 Woodbury High Graduate and was like a super model the whole time. She is so interesting, beautiful and fun…and incredibly talented (she has played classical piano since she was 5!) Most importantly is giving and thoughtful. She has worked with a charity I found so interesting call Invisible Children Enjoy your sneak peek! I had a wonderful time getting to know you!adefrisblog1

Can I just tell you how much these little cuties made me smile!? Olivia has grown up so much and little Michael, well, lets just say he gave me a hug right when I arrived!  They have the best personality!  I was so lucky to photograph the entire family a couple of years ago and I can not believe how much these 2 little people reflect their parents wonderful, fun and laid back personalities. Mentoree | Minneapolis Photography Mentor

Meet Sara from Battle Lake, MN! Sara is one of my recent mentorees. We had a great time together! Read on to learn more about her from our interview:
What I loved about my mentor session with Lisa (shameless plug):  It was awesome start to finish.  She tailored the session to my needs.  She asked me what I was looking for and what I wanted to learn.  I got that and SO much more.  Lisa is a “real” person.  She is fun, and energetic and such a sweetheart.  I was looking for straight answers to my questions and that is what I got. She gave me a great starting point to get my business going.  I wanted a one on one experience where I could ask as many questions as I wanted.  I felt comfortable and was not intimidated by her awesome talent.   So you are wondering if I liked it…..I LOVED it….I told Lisa that I would like her to mentor me every day for a month.  When I left she let me know if I had any unanswered questions to email her and she would help!  Thanks Lisa for a great day and a great experience!
I find my work at: I spend most of my days at my restaurant, Stella’s and am getting into photography.
My biggest accomplishment this week was: Buying my new computer…took the leap!  Now its real and I am serious!
In my camera bag is: Canon 50d, 50mm 1.2 lens, 20-70 mm 2.8 lens
My recent favorite image is: I took my three children on a little “photo shoot” by the lake (ALONE).  Everyone managed to stay dry for maybe 5 minutes.  So we continued to take photos in the water.  I looked over and saw my daughter in the lake sucking the water out of her dress…YUCK!  I guess she was thirsty.  But a great photo!

Our last family vacation was: We took a road trip to South Dakota….everyone tries this….. once!
Something most people don’t know about me: I have a black thumb…..I can’t keep any plant or flower alive for more than a couple weeks. I would love to have a garden or beautiful landscaping but I would have to hire someone to keep it up!
In 5 years I see myself: Running a successful photography business and watching my babies grow up!
